I don’t disagree with this at all.
But what that conversation turned into was a commentary on his age, as if he’s somehow past the age of changing or that lots of feminists didn’t need to be taught to see the world the way we do.
Also, we don’t know that he has or hasn’t changed. Expressing ambivalence is one thing, but discounting the possibility that he has in absolutes is ridiculous.
Also, you clearly articulated “baby steps” as stopping the promotion of misogyny. That’s the goal [for the likes of someone like Too $hort’s music]. I would argue that baby steps towards that goal is admitting ones misogyny. So again, I don’t see a problem with the OP tagging this baby steps.
